Visual Narrative: Visual Effects Week 5

This week I was able to finish all the tutorials and get a result which is a bit scratchy. Below shows the steps after face builder.

I read my pictures with the digital make-up into Nuke and the texture builder automatically applies them to the model. I needed to paint the blank spaces and amend some incorrect parts of my face to refine the rendered model.

The tutorials, I have to say, are straight-forward and easy to understand so I did not encounter any difficulties

With the model ready, I tracked my footage with the model. The points on my face helped me figure out which part of my face would move.
At first, I added too many keyframes to the tracker and the outcome was jogging and shakey. Taking my tutor’s advice, I limited the number of keyframes and solved this problem.
CONCLUSION:
The process from face builder to texture builder was flowing with help of the tutorials. Having learnt how to use the stamp tool in Adobe Photoshop accelerated the correcting process. However, I did find some parts of the texture hard to adjust. The pattern on my right cheek doubled itself on the model. It was because the make-up I did on my face wasn’t matching in the same place. This was something that did not occur to me when I was designing the pattern on the 3 views but I just left them there as they looked kinda nice also.
The Face tracker was not time-consuming but it did cost me some extra time to fix my mistake. I took various clips of myself moving my head around to find out the best pose that would form the best composition as I needed the outline of my body to be clean and visible.
