Visual Narrative: Visual Effects Week 3

This week, I aim to try some different patterns for my digital make-up and make a decision for the visual of my final outcome.

I have 2 ideas for my design and I choose the first one as I want to make my inspiration from Cantonese Opera visible even though the latter one is easier to apply to my face.

I created a concept art as my ideal outcome and the huge dots are spotted on every mole on my face. I shall begin to embrace my imperfection by enhancing the imperfect parts and appreciating their beauty.

CONCLUSION:

I chose to develop the possibilities of minimalist patterns for my digital make-up because I want to keep the inspiration from Cantonese Opera. ‘Chou Jue’ is considered a buffoon character but actually plays a positive role in the opera. This really matches the idea of a tragic hero.
